Version 2.2 News

Well there's been very little feedback about Version 2.2, and the only feedback I have had has been positive, so it looks like I'll be pushing Version 2.2 to the WordPress repositories as soon as I've finished the documentation. No that I've started it yet as I've been on call for work and  had to spend quite a bit of time working. Also I'm flying out to Maine this Saturday for two weeks to spend Thanksgiving with family and I've not had the time, or in the inclination, to go through all the process grabbing new screen shots. But I might get round to doing some of it once I've recovered from the flight and the bus trip.

I've had a couple of people asking for support for campaign tracking – its not a huge amount of work to add it : just adding a couple of new fields in the Advanced settings section and possibly a couple of the Add/Edit Post/Page options block. I'm still not sure if I should roll this into the base release of Version 2.2 or push it out to Version 2.3.

Ideally I'd like for each 2.x release to be where I add new features with 2.x.y releases being bug fixes with no big changes. I think that makes more sense and with the modularisation work I've done for 2.2 this should be a lot easier to do as I'm not using monolithic blocks of code any more and I want to be able to add new features by adding new include files… in fact I might modularise the options pages just to make managing changes to them easier too… if I do that then I should do that for the base 2.2 release.

  1. Hi Guys, there seems to be a issue with posting updates on newly created Pages, when I make a new page and publish it it breaks the site and i am unable to view it again. I then have to comment out the plugins in mysql to get the site working again. I boiled it down to your plug in specifically but cannot be 100% sure its just not interacting with another plugin. is there any logs you would like me to send?

Nigel – please take support questions over to the support forums – if its breaking your site then that would suggest a PHP error so I'd need to see your PHP error logs – along with your Wordbooker Support details… No one else has reported this problem so its going to be something either very silly (like a PHP memory limit) or something very obscure.
